  • Episode 6: Brian Walshe: The disappearance of Ana Walshe

This weeks episode is about the disappearance of Ana Walshe and if her husband really did it. He's been arrested and formally charged. His trial is pending.

Episode 6 Notes:

This is the case that has taken over the news cycle in the last two weeks and an arrest has been made. I am doing the Ana Walshe case this week and the Idaho student murders next week as they are dominating the headlines currently here in the states. There have been shocking developments in both as well as arrests so here we go.

Reading through the probable cause affidavit this is what we know and the prosecutors took to the judge.

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2022 Brian and Ana Walshe hosted a dinner with their friend Gem at their home in Cohasset, Massachusetts, about 30 miles SouthEast of Boston. Gem arrived at around 8:30pm and left in the first hours of the new year at around 1-1:30 am on January 1. The couple went to sleep soon after. Ana told her husband that she had a work emergency and needed to fly back to D.C. in the morning. The next morning, Ana got ready, gave her husband a kiss goodbye and told him to go back to sleep. She usually took one of the ride services to the airport. She left between 6-7am and has never been seen again.

According to police logs, her phone connected for the last time to a cell tower on Jan 2 at 3:14am about .7 miles from the couples home.

Brian Walshe claimed he went to a juice bar in Norwell early on January 2.

Police found video of Brian Walshe visiting a Home Depot in Rockland, about 10 miles away from his home, on January 2. He wore a black surgical mask, and blue surgical gloves and bought $450 dollars worth of goods, including cleaning supplies, mops and tape.

The head of security at the Real Estate Company Tishman Speyer requested a wellness check on Ana on at 11:45am January 4, 2023. She was supposed to be at work on January 3 and her car was in Washington and when they contacted the husband he had not filed a missing person report on her. She had a plane ticket for January 3 and she was not on the plane. Her company had no idea she was coming in earlier.

The Cohasset Police Department sent officers to Brian and Ana’s home to conduct the welfare check on January 4, 2023. Members of the Cohasset Police Department ’s Criminal Investigation Unit were soon called to search the home as Mrs. Walshe was now a missing person.

A ground search began on January 5th in the woods behind the Walshe home. It was suspended on Jan 7. The tiplines had police aggressively tracking down leads.

On January 8, police returned with a search warrant for the Walshe home. They also arrested Brian Walshe on charges he misled their investigation because he lied about his whereabouts. He was under house arrest at the time for a fraud charge that was pending sentencing.

On January 17, 2023 Police charged Brian Walshe with the disappearance of his wife Ana Walshe.
